My family and I came to Nicaragua in 2004 for the first time on a family vacation and fell in love with the country as well as the people. So much that we have decided to invest in the real estate with a plan to build a second home. As 'location' is the key word in buying real estate, meeting the 'right people' to help you is equally essential.

We have been fortunate to meet Paul Elliot Tiffer (named after T.S. Elliot by his literary parents), who has represented us and a few of our friends in purchasing real estate. Paul continues to find ways to save us from potential risks, as well as from a lot of annual paperwork and cost dealing with the DGI (version of Nicaraguan IRS) as well as the annual tax issues. He is very well versed in all areas of real estate and is diligent about informing us of the most recent and updated information on various legal matters. He has recently impressed me in his thoroughness in doing a detailed title search; that was very important for me in the midst of the current precarious situation related to a foreigner owning properties in Nicaragua.
