Project Gutenberg has this title by Thomas Belt available for free download. I read this recently. If anyone is interested in what Nicaragua was like at the end of the 1800s this is the book. Belt was a naturalist (working for mining interests) and hiked most of Nicaragua. He's a man of his period for sure, regarding his views of Nicaraguans, but his descriptions of the landscape and wildlife wonderful.

Thanks

I just downloaded the ebook. Have read chapter one. Considering its age, his writing style kept me engaged. Just wish the plates and illustrations were able to be included.
