IHT reports that another attempt to spring the convicted Sinaloa drug cartel members from jail was thwarted.
Sevilla said other prison inmates told authorities of the plan and that information led them to Diego Zamora, a 35-year-old alleged drug trafficker linked to the Sinaloa cartel.
A search Tuesday of Zamora's house near the city of Tipitapa, where the cartel members are incarcerated, led police to a stash of weapons including 12 AK-47 rifles, two M-16s and ammunition, Sevilla said.
