. For those of you unfamiliar with the Boaco area, we are about 400 meters in elevation. During the dry season (Jan-May, mas o menos), it is DRY. The hills are brown and last year's growth is very flammable.

Locally, they burn the hills in March (or so). They believe it adds nitrogen to the soil (?) as well as drives the snakes away.
