out in the back of the photo is called ( the foot of the giant ) the bay that is at the back end of the foot is gigante a small fishing community . there are a few surf camps that operate out of town that take surfers out to spots by boat.

you can buy fresh fish and lobster , there a few dinning places on the beach were you can watch waves roll in . good spot for swimming the waves are a lot calmer it is a protected bay from the south swells that come...

just north of gigante is playa amerrio . when you enter the public access road it comes out at the south end of the beach . when going north on the access road you find your self going thru a tree tunnel along side the beach....awsome setting. you can at times get to see the kong or howelers monkeys up close. they make sure there presences known.

gets a litte buggy when the suns setting ......

when in rivas you take the tola road . when in tola just past the park you go left up two blocks then go right follow the signs to rancho santana ....

you follow the road for 20mins. you pass a nice entrance to a development on the left that the pellas family bought last year...you go 5mins more you come to a tee in the road that takes you too gigante. you will see sighs advertizing differant services . when in gigante you go north 2mins. go thru the river bed then you see the public access road to the left that is playa amerrio ....

if you pass the tee in the road you take the next left a mile up the road that takes you directly to the public access entrance. the coop will be working on the road there cause it is difficult to access by car when the road is wet... when traveling in nicaragua durning the rainy season its a must to rent a 4x4....imho

you can buy property at this beach , it is forsale....the prices very dramaticaly. in and around gigante there are several other areas that are good properties you can purchess that have ocean views , or heavy treed lots cleared lots . there is lots of propertys for sale in this zone that are of fair value.
