La Recolecsion
My sister and I lived in Leon for 1YEAR 1976 TILL77. WE were in an internado La Recolecsion. Does it still exist the internado. It was also kind of an orpahanage. Young girls lived there since they were babies, but I never saw any babies. The monjas were so strict, but on Sundays they took us places.(Poneloya, some boys colegio to swim, but I can't remember the name) I learned to make Hostias there.
La Recoleccion
La Iglesia de la Recoleccion, is still there, but i'm not sure if the school-Internado still exists. The girls at La Recoleccion were thought amongst other things, to play la marimba, to do brodeiry, and many other arts and crafts.
The boys colegio you were taken to swim, most probably was El Calazans, that is located just outside Leon, on the road to Poneloya.
Other boy's schools were/are: La Salle, San Ramon, La Superior de Varones, and The mixed boys and girls El Instituto Nacional de Occidente.
