MISSING PERSON

Anyone who has seen my husband, Ken Kinzel in Esteli or Miraflor area please respond. He has been missing since approximately April 13th...and his belongings have been removed from his Esteli residence. He also owns a finca in the Zacaton area of Miraflor (near the police station). If you have seen him, please try to recall the date, time and place. A young, pregnant Nicaraguan girl(name withheld) has been seen driving his truck this past week (Dark green '98 Toyota Tacoma extended cab.) Had one lead that he was seen in Miraflores..thanks, Thunderdial, but WHEN? Information leads us to believe Ken is being kept somewhere, and is unable to communicate..TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE. Please help if you can. He is 52-yrs. old, 6' tall, 175 lbs., tanned, blue eyes, thinning hair, ponytail. Contact this blog, the U.S. Embassy or the National Police. » edit | reply

You're a good detective. Oh, I guess it is possible. There are several examples of female murderers in the US (typically killed the husband) disposed of him in that fashion. I've never heard of this in Latin America. I think that type of character is formed over a great length of time - I've never heard of a teenager going to these lengths. They are always middle-aged or more mature.
There is a family, clan, or gang somewhere in the details, that's for sure.

how is it that no one here mentioned that Ken was a NL member? I remember reading some of his posts from last year about one-way tickets, but didn't put the two together. Yeah - slow on the uptake, but, whatever. This case is becoming more strange by the minute!

kidding. And, who's to say that he was/is the father of the impregnated murderer (let's just call her by what she is, right?)? She already has a child, so whether or not she's a "minor" by age doesn't really matter. She's an adult on all other levels.
Just a comment
In another post you asked me to tell NL what the information was that was not public. I laughed because, obviously, NL is public so it would make no sense to disclose it here during an investigation.
But, your comment explains exactly why it is important that such information not be released. It is because all so many people don't seem to be able to put things together logically and the emotional responses just make it harder to find the truth.
Here, specifically:
Just hang in there. We will all know more in a few days and, unlike the other recent Estelí murder, the truth here will likely be readily available.

Sometimes men don't want to be "Found". Could this be a domestic case of "I've disappeared with my Nicaraguan Girlfriend and I don't want to be found"? In that case, it's not a "Missing Person", rather a case of Wife # one wanting to find the husband that abandoned her?

What I was told is that I have it on good authority he is ok, probably in Miraflor, and out of cell range. That's it. No date, no time, no truck, no girl.
If he is in trouble, being kept against his will, and time of the essensce, then maybe you should get on an airplane.

I wanted to come immediately, but was advised that for security reasons, I should stay here until further notice. I am beside myself. Was it your friend Peter who said that? Does he know Ken?

Pete, Are you a friend of Richard, who recently went to Leon from the States? He said he had a friend, Pete in Esteli. I was wondering if you were the one who gave him the information that my husband was ok and at Miraflores. But he hasn't been seen there for some time. I posted the last residence in Esteli at Eduardo Selva, desde Central Salud, 1/2 cuadra norte, but neighbors say he moved out..or that his belongings were removed about a week ago. I believe there is at least one person who knows where he is, but I need to check with the police first before I mention that. I do know he used to go to the Titanic, and had some young friends there. I'll post more as soon as possible. Thanks, Pete.

As I said in my response to one of your many other posts, his neighbors said he moved out. They apparently saw him loading stuff into his pickup.
I know Ken. I saw him in Estelí in his truck 2 or so weeks ago. The last time I talked to him (a few months ago) he was progressing on construction on the Miraflor property. I would assume he is up there.
Your story seems to keep changing. Other than he is out of contact, what is it that makes you think there is something wrong with him?

The only way I'm aware that my "story" has changed is that earlier on, I relied on information from another person on this site that he'd been seen in Miraflor...which is why I relaxed over the weekend. But I didn't get information as to WHEN he was last seen at Miraflor...By yesterday, when I hadn't heard from him, I called U.S. Citizen's Services again. I thought for sure he was up there somewhere, until I was told that the young Nicaraguan girl was seen driving his truck around town. Ken told me that NO ONE drove his truck, due to insurance reasons. (yes, I know about the girl...who is under investigation now). The next lead took me to his last known residence there in Eduardo Selva. RUMOR is that neighbors saw him moving out...can anyone confirm that in FACT it was HE, KEN, with his green Toyota Tacoma truck? Or someone ELSE loading it up? And DID anyone SEE Ken actually leave that house? And how trustworthy is their information?
Asking for help
I understand that you are concerned. You are asking for help & people are offering it. You began with a concern about his health & then moved on to suggesting he is being held against his will. There is a big difference between being ill & being kidnapped. Let the Policia handle it or get on a plane & handle it yourself. The only info you will get here is second hand & you call that "rumor", Fyl told you that he was seen moving, I seriously doubt Fyl has any reason to lie to you or spread misinformation. Don't ask for help then criticize it.
I was told NOT to come there
Again, I wouldn't have suspected anything if I hadn't received multiple emails asking ME if I knew what had happened to Ken. He wasn't returning emails or phone calls. Ken and I had been in touch daily until I left for a 2-wk retreat out of cell range in the mountains. It was when I came into town to ck email that I found out. My first response was that perhaps he was sick and unable to respond...maybe stuck at Miraflor, or at his house in town. My gut feeling told me that he needed help. Additional information led to the latter speculation. I wanted to get on a plane and come immediately, in spite of being totally drained from no sleep and not being able to eat. But I was directed to stay in the States for safety reasons. Do you know how hard it is to do this? As to rumors, yes, I am finding that out..but I imagine I would hear them there as well. My main sources of information now are what officials are finding out, other than through this site, and I appreciate the concerns very much, including fyl's comment. Not that I doubt him. I think he's a sincere guy, but that it a critical point of infomation. Fyl was TOLD Ken was seen moving...but was he told the truth? WHO was with that truck? I've been told several conflicting pieces of information on this critical point, as have police. And again, I certainly appreciate any information that anyone has.

Well, obviously you must REALLY trust this person if their word is enough to keep you so far away while you're so concerned about your husband. Has he/she actually gone to his place in Miraflores to see first-hand who's there (if anyone)?

And know them as well. Yes, I was told that the police had gone to the farm. I think if you had the whole picture, you would understand. I'm sorry I can't paint you a better picture, and appreciate your concern.
That last comment is KEY to this case...
If anyone did in fact actually see Ken with his truck moving out his furniture...please let me or the Policia National in Esteli know. This is a KEY piece of information, and they now seen to be focused there. Also, you must know that Ken is missing WITHOUT his pickup truck.
How strange Marty
You have been a member here for only a short time. It's nice that you are concerned about your husband. I would have thought you'd have shown interest in Nicaragua prior to Ken going "missing". I can't help wondering why you are not here with him? Not that that is anyone's business.... I just would imagine (and hope) that when a guy takes off to a foreign land to live, the wife normally sticks with him....
Then there is always the chance that he just needed to get away for a while...

We were together for over a month at the beginning of this year...before I returned to the States to train for health care work, so that I could support us. He was going to work on the farm, I was going to provide the income, toggling back and forth between the States and Nica until we had a nest egg. Prior to that, I was too busy earning a living to spend time on websites. He found the farm and bought it. If you knew me, you would know I'm crazy about Ken. I WISH he just needed to get away for awhile..that would be a best case scenario. Evidence is not pointing that way...we were in touch multiple times per day viz text msg. before this. The police are heavily involved...and we need all the help we can get.
That's funny...
Here are the facts:
1. You told me on the phone that you worked in astrophysics, not healthcare - so you Ma'am, are a liar.
2. The Nicaraguan police aren't heavily involved in anything, just ask them. I am amazed to this day that they can muster up the strength to pull me over for mordida.
3. There isn't any evidence other than the fact that your husband traveled FAR away from home, bought land/farm, and you can't seem to get in touch wih him.
4. I'd say you're a troll, but you answer your phone.
5. You knew the entire time (you told me on the phone first) that another woman was involved. I guess from a jilted perspective that you could view that as him being in danger. But I think it's quite obvious to everyone that you're relationship is in danger.
It's incredible that a bunch of people that you don't know reached out to help you. Hats off to them, and don't let this incident keep you from helping in the future. It's also pathetic that you lied to them, used them knowing the whole time that you were chasing a skirt, and not your husband. Quick, find a mirror and look into it. Then bounce back, don't do it again, and move on.

1. I don't even know what astrophysics is..so you misunderstood whatever I said. 2. THAT is interesting news. That was my first thought, but I've been assured that they are heavily on this case..and am receiving continuing new information. I was told that because the U.S. Embassy is involved, that they are taking it seriously. And I know of several parties who've been questioned. 3. WRONG. We've been together twice, most recently for 5 weeks down there, until early February. And we have been in touch almost daily since then. The girl was a factor when I arrived in late December. I know quite a bit about the girl. My husband wanted to have children. He never did. This situation happened. But it has not has not changed our love for each other. Remember, it was not I who was first worried. 4. ?? 5. NO, our relationship doesn't depend on that. I was willing to walk away from the marriage if needed, but that doesn't change love.
What need have I to lie? I would never embarrass Ken this way..I am only here because many factors point to something very wrong. It would be inhumane NOT to do anything. I'm sorry to hear your animosity. Several people seem to come onto this site with these negative comments. Including you..from your first blog. It is so unnecessary.

You told me on the phone that you are "sure it isn't his kid," and now "the situation happened" and "it has not has not changed our love for each other." I guess next you're going to tell us you're in Utah, not Florida...
