Lampson Lion ServicesSubmitted by Jay_D on 23 January, 2007 - 12:21.
Thought I'd try to fill in a bit while LFJW is on sabbatical...if you're headed to Port, Lampson can be a tremendous asset to smooth touring of the area. He can provide a unique cultural perspective and speaks multiple languages, english being one of them. He also speaks good spanish and is willing to help you practice. Had the pleasure of meeting many of his extended family whild in Port, his brother plays baseball for the team in Esteli. Just walk across the street from the airport and ask for Lampson and someone will get a hold of him for ya. ( categories: )

I will definitely
ask for him while there in March. I need the language practise.
I liked the fact...
that for many folks in the area, Spanish is a second language and they tend to speak a bit more slowly... for the advanced beginner/inter student like myself this helps a lot with comprehension.
Was talking with this fellow in Spanish while in Port and he asked me if I was costa rican...jejeje! Yeah right!
Lampson
Lampson is the man in Port, he is a taxi driver, translator, bodyguard, & storyteller. I have spent a good bit of time in his cab.
