Bluefields Express - "M/V Rio Escondido"Submitted by marlies on 14 January, 2007 - 09:33.
![]() The "fast cat" from Corn Island to Bluefields is named the Rio Escondido. It leaves Corn Island around 9:00 a.m. and arrives Bluefields at 2:00 p.m. Before the boat leaves the dock, all pax are required to have their life jackets on for inspection by Capitania. Apparently the 6 foot drop into the engine room and spinning shafts, which remained open the entire trip, is not considered a safety hazzard! The only damage done was some minor hearing loss from the whistle of the twin turbos. Maybe they have plans to address the engine room ventilation issue and close the hatch. Until then, I will be traveling on the Captain D! Luckily, there were following seas and it was a rather smooth ride. ( categories: )

Hey Marlies,
how did it turn out with the dog? Just know that I thought about you a lot regarding that situation.
just got back.
Just got back last night and haven't seen the dog. I decided to just pray for the dog to have a quick, natural death. If I had done anything, I would have been accused of killing someone's poor pet and probably taken to the judge for a pay-off. Or I would have been accused of "obia" and bringing bad luck to the community. Sad but true.
