I am moving to Managua this summer to teach at the Colegio Americano and I am trying to figure out the best way to get my stuff there. I have tons of books and materials and a computer to bring in. I also have very little money. Any ideas on transportation there? I don't mind biking, but I am not sure I want to depend on a bike during the rainy season. Dan Plemons

Books
Books are easy to send cheaper. if You go to the post office ask for an M-BAG. they send Only books by ship for $1 a pound, with a minimum of 11 lb and I think the max is about 66 lb . Keep in mind it will take about 2 months for the books to get there.
If you fins a cheap way of sending the other stuff let me know, I am very interested. Also you might want to consult with an accountant, but if I recall you can get a sizable deduction for moving due to your job.
