Jinotepe Central ParkSubmitted by Jay_D on 11 January, 2007 - 06:52.
This is the Chinese restaurant that Rogertroll recommeded...located in the central park...had a chicken w/ mixed vegggies in a brown sauce that was very good and a welcome change of pace from standard nica fare...thanks for the tip on this place Roger! ( categories: )

another park
My favorite park to go to in Jinotepe is several blocks away from the central park. It has a kids park and then in front a little cafe kind of setup.
Everyone sits around drinking Presto coffee, I have met some interesting folks there.
Try their
camarones con ajonjoli, (sesame shrimp), it super tasty!!
The service is slow and they don't serve beer, but the food is definitely worth going back for.
almost ordered this...
although when i asked the waitress about the shrimp she said they had been purchaed the day before...took a pass but i'm sure they are great...could not believe the honesty...very refreshing...Jinotepe seems to be a very temperate little town with a lot of evangelicos
the Chef
My wife worked at a restaurant in Managua where the cook of this restaurant was originally working (when he first made his way to Nicaragua). Supposedly the owner treated him pretty lousy, so he ran off and did his own thing.
I had the Lobster soup one time, that was tasty as well. Think it was 60 cords at the time.
Is this the Chinese guy?
he came out to sit in the front of the restaurant to have lunch...guess what, he had a big bowl of soup and a fried plantain on the side.
thats him
very hard worker.
i'm glad he started his own place...
although a brew would be nice w/...but guess it's a good idea to scale back on the tona every once in a while!
ADAMANt>>>where in Boyton Beach for big bowl of lobster soup for $5usd>>>on the way now...haha
60 cords
is similar to US prices for soup, no?
No soup for you!
I suppose
but it was a large bowl with a huge lobster in it
and all the fixing on the side.
Ahh
so it wasn't similar to prices here. You pay $4 or more just for an average sized bowl and some crackers if you're lucky. Oh, and if it's a lobster bisque you're lucky to find little bitty pieces of lobster in it.
Could it be
Because in the bisque the lobster gets liquidized?

More like
because the restaurants are trying to get every dime out of the consumer without giving anything.
There are always exceptions though, I've got a nice little place I frequent in Boynton Beach that has awesome food AND gives you a big portion.

I was thinking that the sarcasm was evident, I am surprised you did not spot it.
Bisque are made by liquidazing the ingridients so you will not see any piece of lobsters, unless the chef is gone coocoo.:-)
By the way I like big portions too.
NICALIBRE Jacko
Ahhh, sarcasm
Sorry GF, I stopped smoking on the 1st and I don't really have my wits about me yet. Still trying to adjust. You're right, bisque and soup are very different, but both good.
Not the bisque
it was like chicken soup but with Lobster. haha.
