There I was . . .Submitted by Former NL Member on 28 December, 2006 - 00:11.
![]() . . . flying from Managua to Granada to view las Isletas from the air, and there was a great view of Laguna de Apoyo. Even though I lost my digital camera somewhere between Diriamba and Granada I was able to take this screen shot. And so's not to be confused with Lyin' Farmer John Wayne, the shot was taken with FlightGear flight simulator, a free open source program available from www.flightgear.org. The world scenery database includes Nicaragua. The geography is very good, but they don't show squat for cities. I had to convert the .ppm file of the screen shot to a .jpg. The .ppm file looked much better than this, the water came out blue instead of bands of grey. ( categories: )

My God, if Nicaragua really looked like that. . .
I'm glad you clarified all that, because the screen shot looked to me like a screenshot of the surface of the moon from Lunar Lander Simulator 2005. ;-)
You should use a real picture instead of that fake 3D one.

I might have to
break down and purchase MSFS. The 2004 version can be bought for under $20 now. But I don't know if the screen shots or world scenery are any better.
