common crypts in Cementario de Granada

I was told that this is where wandering gringos get deposited. Then after five years they toss your remains in a big common grave and resell the space...

Statues
I am not sure if there is more than one cementary in Granada but the one I visited has a crpyt section which is quite impressive historically and artistically. There are massive monuments and statues. It is one of the best kept burial grounds I have seen in Central America (of course the posted photo here was used to show another side of the cemetery).
I think that there is only one
one big cementary in Granada. They have city blocks full of impressive masoleums and crypts. These everyman crypts are close in near the chapel. I like visiting there. There are impressive statuary and cement work. There is a small army of Nica's that work there and they are used to gringos wandering about. I believe the bones of seven Nticaraguan Presidents reside here..
we walked up through . . .
we walked up through . . . La Prusia past the cemetary to the laguna but never went in for a closer look. I'd really like to take some time looking through the history of this cemetary. They don't really do the Dia del Muerte in Nicaragua, do they?
Every year
On the 2 of November.
NICALIBRE Jacko
El dia de los muertos
is observed to some extent (visiting graves, cleaning up the area), but certainly not to the extent that Mexico does.
thanks Cathy . . .
I really hope some of the spanish i'm learning sinks in soon. Obviously it's not sinking in fast enough ; )
