Las Pampas with their new bamboo bats

Our San Juan del Sur team proudly posing with their brand new , and highly treasured, bamboo bats. Two were donated by Kiwi, and two by the owner of the Bamboo Bat Company, Tom Verrengia.

Achhhh. Can't even get all the photos to load. Wouldn't even attempt a video. But, I will tell you that the games are great fun -- some of the players really terrific. And...you never know what is going to happen. At my first game, Las Pampas was playing against Las Delicias, a team known for their tempers. Las Pampas had already beaten them twice earlier in the season. Las Delicias was not particularly happy with a couple of calls and the ENTIRE TEAM went after the ref, including some of the women bystanders, fists flying. They tried to keep the game going, but it was eventually called because Las Delicious just couldn't cool it.
