Carter, US and Nicaragua

There is an interesting article in El Nuevo Diario titled 'Ex presidente Carter: "EEUU aceptará al que resulte ganador"'. Worth reading as it says he has talked to Condleeza Rice and the US will accept the election results that Carter says were totally clean.

From the article, you find the following.

It is clearly carefully stated/written. It doesn't blame anyone for the Contras but points out that the situation during the 1980s is completely different from today's circumstances. I'm impressed with how this was put, how Carter made the efforts to convey this and what I see here on the ground. I just hope that others will understand the point and let Nicaragua move forward.
