Guys ya know i was making a pontificaTION POINT...here meant to stir up thinking in the lefties for a cahnge!
but it is a historical fact that just before the Big tourist Hotels got built in Cuba, with Drug Dealer money from Cuban drug running (which the Sandanistas elite were and/or are partners in), that thousands of girls were on the streets begging for anything to eat and even wash themselves or whatever. There are websites that specialize in the traveling Ho Monger/Player lifestyle (Like MOI) and other sites which relate the facts: You could literally get laid for a bar of soap!
It still happens in the still starving parts in the outback of Cuba. If it wernt for Remittances from relatives in the USA the whole island would been swimming for their lives long ago...to the evil USA!Now its only those who dont have remittances coming that take the often deadly trip.

I am Infantry-Airborne Viet vet. My Dad was In 3 wars...WWII/Korea/Vietnam...as a 50 Cal machine gunner/forward observer and 1st sgt...evey major battle outside the Pacific. My mom was a Court Reporter at the Nuremberg trials. My grandparents worked at the navy Yard making war materials. Sister was an Air Force Nurse. Other ancestors fought in the Civil War.

I am about Capitalism in its fair competitive form, and am here for the opportunities to make money and do good for Nicarauga while i am at it...thats all really. I had hoped to make it a long term stop-over or permanent site on my World-Wandering ways.

The women are incredible and great...the Military/cops nad their gangster partners are without remorse or restraint.
Corruption happens in many or most countries because all goverments (Including the USA) are somewhat corrupt and over 90% of all politicians worldwide are corrupt too...just some are much more sophisticated and/or reasonable about it. Competitive corruption and Mordida i can deal with.
Outright impunity to have people framed and murdered when you have the Police and Judges locked on the Sadanista payroll side, is not fair or smart to deal with. if they want anything, including your life or your LAND or both, they will just take it. Thieves and Murderers are not good partners for bargaining in correct commerce!
Anyone but Ortega will be OK to great for Nicaragua. A street vendor that aint Sadanistan, will do more good for Nica moving up ion the economics world than Ortega can ever do. First of all, I do not like Ortega personally. Many Sandinistas on the street will tell you that he is just bad and dont even consider him sandinista. Under his leadership my wife's father's land was taken and he was put in jail. Later my wife's first husband turned from sandinista to Contra and because they thought she was helping him pass info to the CIA, she was thrown in jail for six months and finally deported to the U.S. I hear so many stories of the brutality of the sandinistas in the 80's and the hardship imposed on the people at that time. But even now the sandinistas are in control of most of the major cities and have a large influence in the assembly and they are not so bad. The biggest fear is that things will go back to the way they were but I dont think this will happen. Even Ortega must know which side of his bread is buttered (I hope). As long as Nicaragua remains a democracy power will ebb and flow between the parties. The thing is that the more things change here the more they remain the same.
By the way, I am also a Viet nam vet (navy) and two of my daughters, my father and my grandfather also serve in the navy. No airborn or green berets or rangers or seals, but we did serve. I dont want Ortega to win but in the end it is their country and things go really bad I will just leave......but I dont expect that to happen.

The loyalty of the Sandinistas on the FSLN platform is a funny thing. They may say they are going to vote for D.O. but when it comes time to really do it, its a different story.
The other funny thing is how they vote for the mayors, thinking this isnt D.O. therefor I they are fine in office. When in all reality D.O. is running the party. Take for instance Managua, Herty and Marenco, boths FSLN mayors, now if D.O. ran in their spots instead, he would not have won.

I also have friends in Venezuela and Guyana which borders Venezuela. a couple of weeks ago the venezuelan National Guard (Thugs in Uniform) just murdered some Guyanese ON GUYANA SOIL. Chavez has plans to take over a chunk of Berbice which belongs to Guyana. as far as Ortega goes, it seems like everyone thinks he won't do much to disturb the Yankee dollar and most of the local not Central political Leaders, Mayors etc.. won't let him! opinion has it that he is always a "Flash in the Pan" come elections but never wins.
