I can't believe it!

I just cant believe that you posted this photo....

Three days ago, I was walking up the stairs to the apartment bldg where I live on Corn Island and resting in the corner of a step was a big hairy "tarantula." I have seen a lot of large spiders in my time here but this was the real thing. I asked around and received confirmation from some locals that, though rare, there are tarantual-like, big hairy spiders. I took a picture and was considering posting it to Nicaliving last night. I'll post my photo as well. Maybe someone can identify it.

My photo was taken in Corn Island

ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww

OMG, I hate spiders! Looking at them creeps me out!

Me too!

spiders are the one thing I fear incredibly. snakes, no problem. but the thought of maybe while I'm asleep, and one of those horrid hairy things comes crawling across my bed, maybe my face? what if my mouth is open??? NOOOOOO!

saw the Sloth one time on the ground crawling along...

Reminded me of some of my friends that had a little to much FDC in 'em.

Are the brown recluse and the black widow found in Nicaragua?

why worry about it

chances of being bitten by one are slim...

but I found a scorpion in my bed the other day.. one of many around my house.

Even had one of the suckers sneek into my shoe to sting the hell outta me on ma' toe(silly me not checking first)

Snakes.... killed two in ma' house, dont know if they was poisionus but they were pided up...

I knew lots of folks bitten

I knew lots of folks bitten by brown recluse spiders in the Keys (K.W.) but have never seen one here. I even knew a shrimper who was bitten and not treated and ended up with a big chunk of his calf missing.

Still not sure what is worse, tho; being physically deformed or a spider pooping in my mouth!

In Daytona Florida

In Daytona Florida, I was bitten in my sleep by a brown recluse on my front upper thigh. it was a small sore at first and expanded to the size of a silver dollar after a couple weeks. I used alcohol, peroxide, bleach, etc. for topical treatments with no success. Only after a doctor prescribed antibiotics did it heal. The antibiotics worked to shrink the sore very quickly. I was lucky to have been bitten on a fleshy area. Being bitten on bony areas can lead to systemic infections. People have lost digits or have died in some instances.
