problemas en las escuelasSubmitted by waiting_4_1 on 2 October, 2006 - 21:21.
i heard today in school about the third school shooting in the US in the past week. todays was in an Amish schoolhouse in Pennsylvania, where a man walked and shot 11 people, killing three, plus himself. last week in my highschool, we took an hour out of the day to practice an "extreme fire/bomb threat" drill. local police and fire departments got involved. by the time we got out of the school and headed away from the "premises" and out to the football field, the school woulda been blown up and we all would have died. the plan was wortless to put it in a nutshell, but we have to have one "just in case." Im guessing our next set of drills will be "in case of hurricane," just in-case Lake Michigan works up the next "hurricane mitch" or something... how ridiculous. whats next... -marissa ( categories: )

Nothing new
When I was in school in Los Angeles the Soviet Union was suppose to try to blow up the US with nuclear bombs. So, we regularly did bomb drills where we would crawl under our desks and cover our heads with our hands.
I can only assume that was to make it easier to remove the bodies with the desks should anything be left of either one.
drop
We used to call those "drop" drills. The teacher would close the blinds on the windows and we would dive under the desks.
The FSLN
made people dig bomb shelters in the shape of the letter 'L' .These were supposedly designed to save us from the capitalist bombs that would rain down from the 'invasor'. The trenches were dug by (forced)volunteers in neighborhoods, schools, etc. They posed a threat to many people at night. Many drunks fell into these trenches at night going home after partying. For the kids, it was a great workout to run into the shelter! The bombs never 'rained' down though. The trenches then became filled with refuse. This false sense of security is designed to keep people from Funkin' going nuts. Wheeeeeeee!
In 2nd grade,
We used to go sit in the hallway, as if the hallways were fortified nuclear shelters and the classrooms were not.
Makes sense
You could get cut by the flying glass. That would get blood all over. Better to wait the extra 2 seconds for the building to fall on top of you.
That would be logical if . . .
the hallway outside our classroom didn't have huge windows that we sat right next to!
In canada
we did the hide under your desk
and kiss your ass goodbye exercise.
Crazy World
You know things are bad when people attack the Amish.
Inevitable
The media blows these things up and the nut cases have to keep dreaming up worse things to do to keep up. Reminds me of when my wife worked in Compton, Ca., and some punks stabbed the ice cream man right in front of the school playground. "com'on, kids, we need to go back in the classroom". The Amish are also sitting ducks, their pacifist ideology defines naural law and they are lucky they live in a relatively peaceful area.
"Adios" means have a nice day! .
i think it
is you know who's fault.
Reagan?
From a news story, "Roberts himself then called his wife from the school and "told her he wasn't coming home," Mr Miller said. Roberts told her that "he couldn't go on anymore" and that "he was getting revenge for something that happened 20 years ago," the officer added."
not him!
you know who!
