Place to Retire

I've been coming to Nicaragua in the winter for three years now and am looking for a place to retire to in about 4 more years. I'm not a Pacific coast person, I don't like my fish to have more teeth then most of the locals in my rural community! I do like the Caribbean. I've been to the Corn Islands and they seem to be catching on just a bit too much for me. I'm more of an out of the way person. Can anyone tell me about the Pearl Lagoon or Miskito Caye areas? Is it nice? Are there beaches? Are they friendly places? I told a Dr. from France that I met in San Carlos last year that I wanted to go to Pearl Lagoon and he told me I shouldn't. Was that just because he was from France? Any input about any Caribbean Coast region, including the Moskito Islands, would be GREATLY appreciated.
