Don't look now!
Ho Chi Min!
On second thought you look like the Sgt. from the movie Full Metal Jacket wearing Chariles hat.
Please!
Address "Ho Chi Min" as Uncle Ho.

i bought one just like it.....
in commie china!
China?
You bought one in China with a Cuban flag?
I looked at the label on my cap and it was made in China.
I've got one coming for you, Jim.
Don't get jealous.
Just take it easy.

don't get me wrong....
i liked commie china. nice place to visit.......
JJ - Question?
How can a USA (America) citizen travel to "Commie China" & "Commie Vietnam"; but, the same citizen can not travel to "Commie Cuba"?

Business
Please excuse my intrusion. JJ might have a different opinion... But China is a great place to visit for business. A friend of mine just got back from there.
According to Floyd Norris in his International Herald Tribune article “China sells to the world most everything the world wants. China then uses the dollars it receives to buy Treasury securities. That helps to hold down U.S. interest rates and stimulates consumer spending, enabling Americans to buy more from China” Not that this “is a good thing” as Martha Stuart would say, but it sure helps her bottom line at Kmart.
China is the company store for the USA.
Is that a bad thing?
Just wondering.
When you
think of all the American's jobs now in China, it's possible to see that as less than wonderful.
Great prices if you still have a job tho.
Maybe
If union members want to get their jobs back from China, they know what they need to do. A lot of people in the US outsource what I do to India. Cheaper, but they get what they pay for. The architectural community in the US tends to be touchy-feely-politically correct and is against "exploitation of poor foreigners" despite the fact that the Indians who work in call centers and do outsourced drafting probably live better in India than I do in the US.
Getting Jobs Back
Do you know anyone that can survive in the US on .15 - .50 cents an hour?
yes...
Most of my neighbors but then I live in Nicaragua... :~/
Do you know anyone who can survive on $63k per year? Until the mid-90s, many airline union employees were making that for a 36 hour work week and a full benefit package. Their job? Cleaning the airplanes...
The "Average American Worker", as soooo many on this site like to call them, have priced themselves out of the job market. Of course, if we were all "socially conscious", as soooo many on this site like to label themselves, we would be willing to pay 20x more for the same product, just so the "Average American Worker" myth could continue...
Crap, there I go marginalizing and I'm still on my first cup of java!
~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-
... the truth is almost never politically correct...
~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-
Note
I said in the U.S. not Nicaragua. Short of shaking a can for change, you cannot live in the United States on .15 cents an hour
Pete, you misread it just as Padre misread you
The actual dollar/hour figure is irrelevant. Indian call center workers don't live in grinding poverty with distended stomachs in tar paper shacks. The drafters charge $10/hour, and if you assume a US-style overhead factor of 2.6, the employee would get $3.85 - sure beats your $.15 figure.
At the same time
you are modernizing the country that is second only to the fundamentalists as an enemy. So far they are winning the economic war and if they quit buying tbills the american dollar will have bigger problems.
I’m not an economist, but
I’m not an economist, but this puts China in a command position. USAmericans spend and borrow, not producing anything while China produces and invests in its productive capacity.
If to get our jobs back from China, we all accept lower wages and benefits, then we will all have to move to a cheaper place to live. How about Nicaragua?
I'm not an economist either,
. . . but I wouldn't call nine hundred billion dollars in US exports "not producing anything". Especially when it's increased every year since at least 2000.
Why does a trade deficit matter? If you own a grocery store and I'm a architect, I'm going to buy thousands of dollars of stuff from you every year. You'll never buy a thing from me. I have a huge trade deficit with you. So what?
bc jfk made an embargo
the policy of the usa, and no one dares overturn anything that sacrosanct man did. he probably was the best democrat president, unless jefferson was a democrat.
Jefferson?
George or Weezy?
Or
Jefferson Davis?
or
jefferson airship
not jfk
If I remember right it was Nixon who first made peace with China and started the road that we are on now. I may be wrong, that was quite a while ago. If I had more time I would look it up.
i was talking about
jfk putting an embargo on cuba, not china. yes the anti communist nixon went to china.
JFK
JFK approved the "Bay of Pigs" invasion of Cuba for the USA military which was launched from Puerto Cabezas and then JFK (Demo) withdrew his approval of the covering "Alabama Air Guard" air support for the invasion of Cuba.
The USA military and the "Mafia" killed JFK.

i thought the mafia
was in on it. didn't know about the military. jfk was not perfect, but tax cuts, strong on defense, pretty good
do you have
a nica passport? cuba would be a nice place to visit....... i don't know why we treat china and cuba different.
You can go
to cuba on your American passport, just fly from somewhere other than USA. Cuba will not stamp your passport. Mine has only little airplane stamps without anything that says cuba, but they were giving yankees stamps on pieces of paper.
Passport is No Problem
Money is the problem.
Please send all donations to "John" at his "PayPal" account and I will go to Cuba.
I don't need any clothing money because I already have the Cuban cap.
Miskito Alan ®
i'll only
send you fdc and me. i look forward to meeting you in pc some day. you and john wayne are good people.
i look forward....
to meeting you in heaven!

Sex and war,
In heaven there is no beer (no beer? !) Thats why we drink it here And when were all gone from here Our friends will be drinking all the beer.
In heaven there is no wine (no wine? !) So we drink till we feel fine And when we leave this all behind Our friends will be drinking all the wine.
In heaven there is no fear (no fear) So we worry too much here And we drink ourselves full of beer To help us when we deal with the fear.
In heaven there are no drugs Thats why we hang with thugs And when the lord pulls the plug All the thugs will still be selling drugs, yeah.

Cuba
With a young man like this at the helm, Cuba would be in for another 40 years...
In for
what?
Inforgettable
Inforgettable, that's what you are Inforgettable though near or far Like a song of love that clings to me How the thought of you does things to me Never before has someone been more
Inforgettable in every way And forever more, that's how you'll stay That's why, darling, it's incredible That someone so inforgettable Thinks that I am inforgettable too
