ORGAN TRAFFICKING

To further complicate the matter, Latin Americans also fall victim to the trafficking of organs. Today it is no longer rare to find corpses that have been plundered for their organs.

In Bucaramanga, in the northeastern Colombian province of Santander, the body of 17-year-old Johana Maritza Pinto was found bathed and dressed, without any blood on it, but with a sewed up wound that stretched from her neck to her belly button. "They took everything, from her lungs to her bladder," the police reported.

Others survive to tell the tale. An 18-year-old university student on his way to class in Bogota one morning struck up a conversation with two strangers on the bus. The last thing he remembers is that they sprayed something in his face. Five days later he woke up in a local park with a sewn-up wound in his side. He later discovered that he was missing a kidney, according to the Fundación Esperanza.

"We have heard of pregnant women whose babies have been stolen, or bodies of young people missing their corneas. But it is very difficult to document and follow up on such cases," said Diana Cano, national coordinator of Fundación Esperanza. http://www.ipsnews.org/news.asp?idnews=34438

liver

No one wants my liver or brain

stolen organs

Did anyone watch Nip Tuck tonight? The gay nurse had one of her kidneys stolen. The 4th kidney stolen in Miami.

I know, its only a TV show but they do tend to copy current events on these shows.

About that

Something sprayed on his face, is actually called "Burundanga" or in Medical terms Scopalomine, a very powerful drug that leaves you mindless, you may want to read a bit more:http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=1080582

I hate to spoil the fun . . .

Maybe this happens over on the Atlantic coast, along with piracy, drug running, and human sacrifices, but it's generally considered a false urban legend.

True; Atlantic Coast

I hate to admit it but this does happen on the Atlantic Coast, I just returned. During my trip I was sprayed in the face with that stuff that makes you mindless (on several occasions) & upon my return I found out my Liver & part of my Brain was stolen.

A very dangerous place, avoid at all costs...

Burundanga

I had actually thought they frowned upon this sort of thing on the Atlantic coast. Is this Burundanga stuff what they have been spraying each other with in the US capital lately?

Will trade one kidney for a good prostrate and liver.

Spray in the face...

is it FDC?

I'll bet the TRUE

story is that, rather than being stolen, your liver and brain were WASTED!! Jejejeje....

were you...

trying to bait miskito alan? say it ain't so, joe. say it ain't so.

Is Snopes a hoax?

The crime that Snopes talks about was in Houston, these other ones occurred mostly in Columbia. Anyway Snopes reports email hoaxes and there have been documented cases of stolen kidneys in the US that haven't been mentioned in emails yet.

Jack

Well..I believe it happens.Hopefully we look too already "preserved" except to be used for cadaver parts. God help anyone who wants my organs...they'll live a few weeks and freak and die. I believe ..and know about international organ harvesting etc. Just another of this wolrd's extravacant excesses....If our fingernails were coveted...we have no chance. We are small bits of humanty in this world today. Jack..you have nothing to worry about. Your organs are dying..and on the slide....Be happy ! (me too !!) No harm will come if you are not pristine. Willow

You may be partly right but you haven't seen all of my organs. Some of them still work if you can call that work.

riding the bus

I keep reading little tidbits here and there about the danger of riding the bus. Of course in my case, nobody would be able to sell my old dried up 64 year old kidneys..... Richard
