Driving a Nica vehicle out of the countrySubmitted by xenotrope on 31 August, 2006 - 17:56.
I´m interested in buying an old Land Rover in Nicaragua (Jinotega) and driving it to Honduras and beyond. Has anyone done this? I´ve read the how to register a vehicle FAQ, but I´m just checking on what the actual border process is like when a gringo is trying to drive a truck with Nico plates on it out of the country. Thanks! Joe ( categories: )

Exit visa
for the vehicle is required. In order to obtain it go to one of the main police stations in you area and apply for the visa. There will be some fees to be paid and the vehicle will be inspected by the police. The police will give you a list of documents required. It generally takes 24 hrs to get the visa.
If you wish to permanently export the vehicle you should check with the authorities of the destination country.
