have the ability to defend yourself if just about any other country invaded, (our best weapon is really old helicopters that crash a lot), it forces your foreign policy to be very polite/bland/wishywashy/. Attacking Canada

There is only one country that can attack canada (using conventional means) and that is the USA. So in fact Canadians are very smart since they do not have a hoe in hell defending themselves, so why should they spend time or money trying to arm themselves against the US? Chretien was not wishy washy, most of the time, and after all, which other leader of a G8 country punched a protester in front of Cameras? Harper is from Alberta, which implies that he led a little bit of a sheltered life, therefore his kiss ass attitude...and lack of fury about the death of Canadians in Lebanon (as they were not from Alberta) I do not think Chretien or Paul Marting would have simply sat back let the US and Isreal do what they did without some serious "act...", oh sorry, comments.

Is true only because the USA wouls not allow other countries to invade us. Any one with a bunch of canoes could invade and all we could do is ask the UK and USA for help. If we did not have our huge,powerful and often pain in the butt neighbor, we would already be learning russian or chinese.

but yeah you're right. I think in Onterio we'd rather have the corrupt Liberals back, well actually I'd rather have David Lewis back but, that isn't going to happen . . . but a western son (is Manitoba west; ) like Gerad Kennedy would suit me fine. Scandal knows no party, the PCs before them were just as bad. And being in advertising myself, I'd rather money was wasted in advertising than in pie in the sky military adventures like the Strategic Defense Initiative, which Harper willl support if given a majority. And that waste would make the adflak in Quebec seem trivial in dollar terms. Not to mention the PCs won't even acknowledge global warming (like George), the libs did nothing but at least they ackowledged it was real. I'm going to Nica where I can't vote anyway . . . you come too we'll canncel one another out of the next election ; ) I vote for flor de caña y joya de nicaragua y a perfecto clima ; )

yes. you're right on the money . . . and Harper is the first to adopt Washngton's "Israel can do no wrong policy". He's going down next election anyway. We've had our flirtation with the right, people have seen where that takes us. We're multilateralists in Canada, not imperial wannabees. Sometimes the UN not agreeing with you is the right thing to do. How many future Jihadi's are being created by this stupid war on terror and Isreal's demolition of a sovereign nation.
