The article was written in August, and this for the political and economic sector is very long time ago.
Unfortunaly economy situations change very quicly, sometime a feel good factor could trigger prosperity for a country, and some other times the opposite could happen.
So now that we had the elctions, we have to wait and see which one will be Ortega first move.
So far he has said many positive things, so the markets are been kept quiet for the time being, but believe me as soon as he make or say something that people don't like, the financial world could react in a way that will make Nicaragua suffer.
Of course I do hope that his actions will be responsible, and taht he will curry on this good moment for the Nicaraguan economy, but the name of the game is WAITING.

Not to beat a dead horse, but this "story" you linked to illustrates the point I was trying to make in an earlier thread.
There is vertually no information in that story, it's just feel-good blogging. No statistics, no sources, I didn't learn anything. It was just a rehash summary of older reports, with a couple of vague conclusions and a thinly veiled attempt to sell stuff.
This story does not convince me

A Monday article in the LBC deals with the Latin American Globalization Index and the winners and losers on same. Nicaragua seems to be more a winner than a loser. http://www.latinbusinesschronicle.com/app/frontpage.aspx
