I have seen this name a lot of places on here...just wondering who these people are and what exactly is their importance?? Are they like... equivalent to celebrities in Los Estados Unidos or no?

more like the Rockefellers in los estados unidos. I think they made their money in rum, though now they're a lot more diversified. Which I suppose would make them more like the Kennedy's. There's a lot of info on familia Pellas if you do a google search.

They are the only Ones in Nicaragua,dunno about other Pellas in other parts of the world thou.
The Pellas group in Nicaragua,are ALL the Same, they are I believe of French/Italian Origin the father runs everything, and his wife even has her own Hospital Vivian Pellas Hospital I believe is called,she's the wife of the Main man, there was an article on La (sorry A$$ gotta sign in) Prensa about them. I got a chance to met one of the Pellas son at last years Ometepe 2005 Fishing tournament, really nice young man and humble, the entire Pellas Family loves to Fish.
