Radio Pirata - ManaguaSubmitted by captscott on 28 June, 2006 - 21:00.
Has anyone listened to Radio Pirata? I listen to it online at www.radiopirata.tk. It plays a really great ecclectic variety of everything from reggae, blues, music in spanish and even Nicaraguan poetry. It supposedly broadcasts on 99.9 FM, but I do not recall ever hearing it on my car stereo. I think it is broadcast from Cuidad Dario, so it may not transmit very far. ( categories: )

Listen often
I listen to Radio Pirata quite often. I love the music mix but I hate the computerized voice that often announces the songs.
Great variety
From Iggy Pop to The Marvelettes to Aztec Camera to Paul Simon in a row?!?! WOW Maybe a few USA stations could take a hint, but that computer dj is annoying. The Pirata web site states they broadcast from Cuidiad Sandino? It would nice to pick up this signal in the car or on the kitchen radio...
Terrific station . . .
but what is with that computer voice reader. I have it on my Mac too but, no one uses it except for the visually impaired and I'd hazard a guess, they'd agree it's annoying but perhaps a necessary tool in their computer, but in the entertainment world it's just annoying.
