Test your web browserSubmitted by fyl on 23 June, 2006 - 17:18.
There is a standard test for web browsers available on-line called Acid2. You can take this test by going here. There is a lot of explanation available if you are interested but if you just click on the that the Acid2 test! link you get two options. One "takes the test" and the other shows you what you should have seen. The test file is small and just displays some text and a graphic. Most browsers seem to choke on it in various ways. Konqueror (on KDE 3.5) and Opera 9 get it right. FireFox comes close. For the rest, you plan and see what you get. If it looks perfect and NicaLiving doesn't look perfect on your computer, let us know. Otherwise, go get yourself a browser that works. ( categories: )

Safari worked better for me
Safari worked better for me on this test but it always crashes so I prefer Firefox.
I tried it and I lik'in it
Thank you fyl I tried the test and it convinced me to change.
my IE browser gave me a big red screen so I installed firefox and it was better. I haven't tried firefox up to now because I wasn't sure I had enough space on my hard drive, but it seems to be working OK. My IE was freezing up a lot!

4 days with firefox, its great!
Well I have been using firefox for four days, My computer is very happy!
My computer hasn't crashed or frozen since I started using firefox.
and my cash is not being filled-up! my computer is running at 73% to 83% after web surfing for hours.
before when I used Internet Explorer(IE) (with windows 98se), I had to constantly clear my cash and my performance would go down to 23% after web surfing and then I would have to reboot(turn the computer off and on)!
The firefox download was super fast, it hardly took-up any drive space and the benifits are no crashes or loss of performance!
And best of all your IE is still there, so you still have full use of it. you just click on the big E (IE) or firefox when you want to go to the internet. ZOOOOM-d8-)
I used this link for the download firefox download
Plug-Ins
Hopefully you installed a few of the plugins that really enhance FireFox. There is one plugin that will start IE for the few sites that you will come across that need IE in order to function. American Express for a while didn't work with Firefox, thankfully enough people complained and it's fixed. Look for buttons that when pushed, do nothing. It's a clue that you might have to use IE because the brain dead programmer wrote with only IE in mind.
Thank's Pete
do you have any favorite plugins and what do they do!
I'm still looking for a spell-checker you can right click while writing like right now!
Google Tool Bar
Download the google tool bar plugin for firefox. It has the "Check" feature. I use it all the time.
