We were there yesterday afternoon with Dan. We have been eating Luis' smoked meats for a couple of years. Always outstanding. Before Rocamar, you called Luis up and ordered what you wanted or if you went fishing, you'd drop off your fish and he'd smoke them for you. Our favorite is the smoked chicken. We make chicken salad out of it that is the best I've ever tasted.

Rocamar is the last building on the beach of SJDS on the north end, across from the disco.

Questions?

Dan: Do you own this place?

I saw the cooker. Is the pork meat tender?

Give us some prices.

What is Rockamar? Is that located in the town of SJDS?

No I don't own it, just a

No I don't own it, just a happy customer. Yes, Luis does a real nice job on the pork. In the past he has done whole pig, which I think he may do on selected days in the future. Rockamar is a normal NICA beach resturant on most days, but totally changes when Luis starts his smoking. As to prices, I don't think he has set them but yesterday, a meal with chicken, pork or fish and two sides and corn bread was from C$85 to C$110. I had potato salad, cole slaw and smoked beans (the beans were my favorite)and all three meats with the fish being my favorite yesterday. Luis has been smoking for a long time but this new venture with the Rockamar has just started. Rockamar is located on the north beach front in San Juan del Sur. Dan Polley

Hey, Dan

what kind of fish does he smoke? You should get him to try smoking some cheese, too. Gotta wrap it in some type of cloth (no, NOT cheesecloth!), like an old (clean) sheet cut into strips. My dad smokes a mean monterey jack cheese!

Rustic table question...

Checked out the website and the rustic table and stools in the first two photos caught my eye. Do you have any idea where they came from? I would loved to get some for myself.

looks good!

in here, i'm already there.

are you serious...

WOW... I am extremely hungry right this very second.
