It's hard to capture in a picture the awesome view I had sitting in the cockpit of my plane only a mile horizontally from the peak of Momotombo!

Actually, I was a mile away from the volcano. This picture makes it look like I was practically scraping the edge of my wing on the crater's rim ... but it's amazing what a good optical zoom on a digital camera can do ... even a mile away.
