Laguna De Apoyo from the Balcony at La Orquidea

La Orquidea is my new favorite B&B At Laguna de Apoyo. Carol and Ken Bob are the expat proprietors from Colorado, USA. This is a great place to chill and relax. They are not in the Moon Guidebook. Here is a link for them.

There is also a new hotel near them that I visited for lunch. Apparently Vilma the proprieter, hired the former chef from Norome. Lunch was a four course event and was great, although it was quite pricey.

It's better than the ones on their website! I assume this is on the northwest side of the lago and looking towards Vulcan Mombacho?

The subject probably has more to do with the result than the operator.

Laguna de Apoyo was the first place I ever visited in Nicaragua (kayak expedition & spanish school) six years ago, and I keep coming back. Stunning beauty and still the pristine charm. JD
