anybody have this problem with BDF bank ATMs?Submitted by webtrainer on 30 March, 2006 - 22:00.
Not once but twice I used my ATM card at a BDF-owned ATM machine and all the usual happened until saying how much money I wanted to take out, say C$2000. I got some sort of error message, no money came out, and out comes my card. The first time this happened I thought there was maybe just a glitch in the communications or something, so I went to another BDF ATM at another location, and the same thing happened. That evening I looked online at my account and the money had been deducted. I got the account credited after filling out a form and faxing it to my US bank, so I didn't lose out anything except the transaction fee. Needless to say I don't use the BDF ATM machines anymore. They are usually in the On the Go (Esso) gasolineras, btw. Anyone else had this problem? ( categories: )

"WT" - I Had Problems Too

I went to their machines (about 10 different ones) in Managua one night and those machines would never give me any money.
I went to their main office the next day to heatedly complain about their ATM service.
I went inside that main office and some man even told me in English that first I would have to open an account with them - Then, obtain a debit card from the bank - Then, I would have to have money deposited in that bank account.
Can you imagine the audacity of that bank. I will tell you that I never attempted to do any ATM business with them again or any other business as a matter of fact.

and agree in general about BDF. I went with BanPro in part based on your recommendation.

Did you like BanPro? I'm trying to open an account that has access both in Nicaragua and the U.S. Do you have any recommendations? Gracias!
Bank account
We do have Bancentro accounts for years. We have access by internet in any part of the world to our account. I recommend this Bank for their very good customer servicies. Never had problem we can't fix with them.
BDF--so far so good
I recently opened a BDF account, mainly because it was the only bank in Rivas that would let me open an account w/o a cedula. So now I have their ATM card as well as my card from my US bank. No problems w/ either so far, although this may be due to the fact I had done all those silly things the bank expected of M.A. last year...
