Scuba Diving The Corn Islands

The ocean is flat calm and crystal clear. It is as good as it gets for snorkeling and scuba diving on Big and Little Corn. Anyone who might be thinking about getting certified might want to take advantage of the "pre Semana Santa Calm!" (now that the craziness of last week has vaporized)

There's a new dive shop on the Little Island located at Hotel Los Delfines. It is called Dolphin Dive and is run by a friend of mine from the states. Sandy has been diving since the early 80s out of Key West and has spent the last 15 years traveling around the world, teaching diving. Stop by and visit Sandy when on Little Island.

If Delfines takes their garbage to the other side of the island and burns it, I apologize and laud their new behavior. Sandy is a very nice person and I have not slandered her in any way. I am glad that everyone now knows who wrote what. The first post was from a very good friend of Sandy's and the second by a good friend of Iguana. Everyone should come and make up their own mind.

It saddens me to see that the owners or "friends" of the owners of two established and successful businesses (Casa Iguana and Dive Little Corn) would stoop to the level of claiming to be clients of Dive Little Corn in order to slander Hotel Los Delfines and Dolphin Dive. What ever happened to professionalism?

But you managed to get the password they were using, and now catgran is really you, who ever that is.

Your main beef with the competition is about garbage and you have not slandered Sandy in anyway, just accuse her of not disposing of her garbage properly. You suggest that everyone come (Gratis I assume) to see for themselves. You suggest we might find a pile of garbage left by Sandy? Arlo Guthrie... Alice's Restaurant starts playing in my head... "You can get anything you want at Sandy's Dive Shop"

See the difference here is the friend of Sandy didn't pretend to be someone else, where apparently someone pretended to be you.

I guess what bothers me is you seem to be struggling to find a way to bury this without admitting you did anything wrong.

diving little corn

I loved the diving on little corn, but really didn't like Dolphin Dive. The hotel dumps their garbage on the dive sites and it's not a PADI shop, even though they have a sign Big Corn that says they are a PADI shop. I dove with Dive Little Corn and had great personal service. The managers have been there 2 years and know the sites and the surrounding waters. Really nice, tranquillo, and know their stuff. I highly recommned it.

Sounds like the rumor Dive Little Corn has going to slander their new competition. Hotel Los Delfines (where Dolphin Dive is located)transports their trash via panga (boat) to the other side of the island where they have a burn pit.

Sandy at Dolphin Dive is a personal friend who has been a PADI Instructor for 15 years (Divemaster since the 80s). Bonnie and Wanda Archibald are Little Corn Natives with the most beautiful, fully equipped hotel on the island, Hotel Los Delfines.

I am in agreement with you on the diving people.

For the hotel and restaurant part, the Dolphin Hotel is the best place to stay on the whole Atlantic Coast of Nicaragua.

"Open Waters"

First I would like to say how much I love these dive pictures...I've put them on my desk top and using them for background pictures. Hope you don't mind!

I'm a total wuss when it comes to being underwater ...so this is the next best thing to being there.

I just watched the movie "Open Water" the other night...and like the movie "Jaws" this movie wiped out any chance I might have had with taking the plunge.

Keep posting the pictures..I love them!
