Why this site?

There are so many web sites about everything these days. How is this site different?

The sites I have found about Nicaragua can be grouped into these categories:

• Travel information sites
• Government sites (mostly only available in Spanish)
• Oraganication sites dealing with what that organization does

What is missing is a site that specifically addresses the needs of someone wanting to move to Nicaragua and needing information and for the person who has moved there and wants to get themselves integrated into local society.

When I moved to Costa Rica in January 2002, I recogniced that there was so much to learn and there didn't appear to be a place that was oriented toward my needs. I learned a lot through word-of-mouth and distributed what I learned through word-of-mouth and thru e-mail with friends. My hope is that this web site can become the place where people can look to find the answers they need about Nicaragua. I will try to put what I learn here as I get myself moved and settled in Nicaragua. I encourage you to do the same.
