go back to this time. MA, this is a great picture of my hometown. Thanks for finding it.
Compared to what Bluefields is today, this picture represents a certain aspect of my lost heratage. I notice how part of the British customs, back then, were still held by my people.
I still remember growing up in the late 60´s and 70´s, how my people dressed in long sleeve shirts, a tie, British style hats, with an umbrella in hand and some old folks smoking cigars. It was a custom to say ¨good morning or good afternoon mam or sir when meeting or passing an elder.¨ Now a days kids would say ¨move out my way.¨
Unfortunately, today this custom has disapeared with the revolution, the contra war, Chamoro´s , Arnoldo´s, and Bolaños government.
