hello people am new to nicaliving, I happen to lived on this street, am originally from matagalpa, and still own a house in this neighborhood. Well for those that think matagalpa is boring do to this colorful but empty picture, I got to say you’re mistaken. matagalpa is one of the best places in nicaragua for partying, especially on febrero and September. This picture must have been taken on semana santa or something

Jan,
Thank-you for the nice picture of Matagalpa. Being the farmer type that I am, the area from Matagalpa to north of Jinotega is very high on my list for my next expidition. I love remote areas that are between 70-80 degrees, and this would seem to fit the bill.
Your shot shows that Matagalpa has some great commerce and will likely be the hub (with Esteli) for shopping for me.

one time before that he will not accept advertising for "Gallo mas Gallo" on this site.
♠ At the present time, we are boycotting "Wal-Mart" (that's easy because none are in Nicaragua); "Gallo mas Gallo"; and "MicroSoft" and that also includes "Ms-NBC.
I am in full support of these boycotts; but, my wife has declined to participate and still buys and pays "Gallo mas Gallo" every month.
"Miskito Alan" is supporting "Howard Stern" (no boycott) in his latest endeavor of going into space and broadcasting from the "moon" or wherever he went to avoid the "FCC"; but, I reckon now that the "FAA" will give Howard some major problems.

♠ Miskito Alan wants to know some info from somebody in Matagalpa.
In "Tienda Power U$.99" in the photo; does this shop actually give U$.01 (one U$ penny) in change when a purchase is made?
Since the "Cordoba Dollar" is now worth U$.0588, possibly change is 20 centavos Cordoba from the U$; but, what happens to the U$.0088 that remains or does that money just disappear?
I would really just prefer a standard "Dollar Store" and the question would be moot. Possibly, the shop has one of those little cups that say need a penny take a penny or leave a penny for someone else.
I noticed this early this morning and I was so concerned that I almost could not sleep. I hope somebody gives me the correct info because I really don't need to lose sleep over this question tonight.

nobody is shopping
by the looks of the pic.....nobody is buying anything from that place. it looks empty.
like M.A, mentioned....howard no longer needs to adhere to the FCC...i wonder what he's up now in the unregulated airways....
Sunday or Full-Moon?
♠ Miskito Alan says that the picture must have been taken on a Sunday or during the night of a very bright full-moon.
All the doors on the street are locked with the metal-garage door type.
All customers must have been in the church praying for guidance on how to pay "Gallo mas Gallo's" high interest-rates.
