Pilot Line-UpSubmitted by NicaNix on 8 December, 2005 - 00:31.
Nica-Nix (yours truly) is second from the right in the line-up of all of us that went flying today all over Nicaragua. While I arrived at the airport around 10 a.m., I actually started flying just before noon and finished a little after 6 p.m. ( categories: )

The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of a private power to a point where it becomes stronger than the democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism - ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. |
Tie
Where is the tie???
he is a ......
trend setter on the fashion runway for pilots
if they start...
wearing eye patches i get worried.
Why is it?
Miskito Alan wants to know: Why when the police have a line-up that nobody is dressed alike; but, when the pilots have a line-up that everybody is dressed alike.
I can remember in high school that my "goin' steady" girlfriend and I would wear identical shirts; but, I never wore the same identical skirt as she wore. I don't think that I could find my proper "skirt" size to match her skirt.

hey nica....
do pilots line up to compare uniforms before flying? is it like a fashion runway? :)
No way
This is definitely the first time I ever saw pilots on the "runway" all lined up! This was a promotional shot for the publicity surrounding the prayer flights.
Truth be known, I think most of the pilots were somewhat uncomfortable with the "uniformed group shot".
I believe I've mentioned before that I really don't belong in the uniformed pilot's group, as I am a private pilot and not an airline pilot. However, here in Nicaragua, being in uniform makes operations at the Managua Intl. airport much more expedited, and considerably less hassle with security arrangements, etc. As my instructor always told me, "...they expect that if you are a pilot, you should look like one!"
That said, the reaction of seeing a private pilot in the US dressed out in uniform would either get them laughed out of the pilot's lounge or detained for impersonating an airline pilot :)
Boys and thier toys
Nix I have been thinking about flying down to Nicaragua with my Aerostar and with the current gas prices I cant afford it. But now I have another good reason to fly Delta (on the 15th). I can go along with the prayer, no problem there, but those uniforms and lines are a big problem for me, hope you guys come up with something else.. (Just Kidding) Id love to take a ride with you sometime, Ill pay for the gas.--- comanche
"NicaNix" and/or "Steve"
"Miskito Alan" says that John ("comanche") is a friend of mine and Marty's ("padredealyson") and both of us can testify that John is very serious about his airplanes and some other things too.

Hey George
Miskito Alan says that he has never seen all the "runway models" wearing the exact same dress.
In Paris -- Never!
What do I know? - I'm not too sophisticated anyway.
