Montelimar

Montelimar questions again.

Going back to Nica in a week!! I'll be staying in MGA for a few days with the immediate family, and the wife wanted to go to Montelimar. Apparently it was Somoza's old vaction spot back in pre-revolution days.

Does anyone know that the Nica day rate is for the beach and buffets? The wife was saying there is a car-load rate, if not getting a room.

It was $119 ppsn / per night for the gringo rate..

My wife can get $55 ppsn/per night via various local contacts.. You could call that the "local" rate.

Fuzzy memory puts it at like $80 per day for 4 or 5 for the day including buffet wrist bands but that was '08..

Funny.. If you show up at the desk with a Canadian passport they start speaking to you in French as they assume you are arriving from Quebec.. (There is a direct charter from Montreal in the winter months)_

Have your wife

call in Spanish and ask for the local or family rate, I hear it is quite a bargain.

My SIL is really good at

My SIL is really good at making sure we don't get the gringo rate! I;ll ask the wife to get her siste to call over. if we go I'll do a trip report on it. My girls were asking if we could get Gallo Pinto there .... I told them.it's supposed to be Nica food... so I assume so!

My other task will be to look for grass seed in Sinsa -MGA. We never did get the yellow peanut groundcover planted... But when I'm down in-country.. I;ll just have to take charge of that myself

Now that my girls are older I'll be taking them by some art and historical museums in Leon... too young for Fortin, but "lighter" museums would be in order.

We are now packing up all the stuff for the MIL,SIL, primos and primas. As usual we will be taking down more bags then we bring back. Late xmas gifts and belated b-day presents.
