Guatemala Earthquakes Continue

While earthquakes are pretty common in Central America, particularly along the Pacific, Guatemala has recently received more than its fair share. A 7.4 magnitude quake on 7 November resulted in about 50 dead. It was pretty much at the Guatemala-Mexico border on the Pacific Ocean.

Since then there have been multiple quakes in the general area. Most have been in the magnitude range of 4-5 but there was just another one of magnitude 6.5. The real-time USGS maps show this info. The A42 page for Guatemala has a link pre-configured for the Guatemala information. If you move it slightly south you can see there have also been a few earthquakes West of the Gulf of Fonseca.

Here is the AP article about the quakes.
