End of the World "Event"

You have probably heard "the end of the world" is coming on 21 December 2012. The inspiration for this idea is that is when the Mayan calendar ends (well, sorta ends). Leaders all over the religions and political spectrums have been telling us their version of the facts.

Well, the good news is that one leader has decided to do something about it in a much more cooperative way. For those familiar with the work of Douglas Adams, you probably should be thinking Restaurant at The End of The Universe. From WW4 Report, we get the following:

The government of President Evo Morales announced July 17 that it will invite heads of state and indigenous leaders from around the world to Bolivia on Dec. 21, South America's summer solstice, believing that this day will mark "the end" of capitalism and Coca-Cola, and the beginning of a time "of love" and a "culture of life." Exterior Minister David Choquehuanca, who made the announcement, said the date was chosen because it marks the "end of the Maya calendar," and a ceremony will be held, to be presided over by Morales, on the Island of the Sun in Lake Titicaca.

I'm anxious to see who will attend.
