Building a gravel road

This is a serious resurfacing job. They smooth out the roadbed, put in stakes with line run between to set the edges and then place three different types of material (it looks like sand, crushed rock and gravel) on to make a decent road surface. It looks like "heavy equipment" means a wheelbarrow and a shovel.

That particular day I was with two friends looking at a chunk of land one of them's uncle had for sale. We had to walk the last km because access was down this road.

About six months ago I was back in the area. A friend of a friend of a relative ... owns property very close to this. She knew how to drive to the property so we wouldn't have to walk. So, about 20km or horrible road saved us walking 1km. Oh well.
