Montelimar - Beach and Airstrip

Montelimar - Beach and Airstrip

In this picture you can see the Montelimar resort, the beachfront and the airstrip to the right of the resort area. While this airstrip is very private, and the ATC people are paranoid about anyone flying there (from the earlier era when it was restricte airspace), direct permission can be granted by the hotel manager, and when cleared by him to ATC, flights are possible. I've landed there three times now.

Steve -- Questions?

Runway at Montelimar looks good.

How many seats in your airplane?

Do you do any charters?

Have you ever flown into Puerto Cabezas, Bluefields, or Corn Island?

What is the airspeed of your plane? ____________________________________________________________________

Just Private Pilot

Miskito, I am an American who has lived in Nicaragua for 9 years, and I do missionary work all over the country. I am a private pilot, as opposted to commercial, so I can't do any type of flying where compensation is involved. However, I do take friends for sightseeing, and it is acceptable to share the direct cost of the flight, as long as each person chips in the same amount, myself included. I rent a Cessna 150, which only holds one passenger and the pilot. I have flown as far as San Carlos and Bluefields on your side of the country, but this little plane doesn't hold enough gas to get to Pto. Cabezas. To get to Bluefields, I had to remove the passenger seat and tie in an extra gas tank. However, my instructor, José Bonilla definitely does charter flights in his Piper Aztec, which will hold 5 passengers.

Airplanes for Me & John

John & I were going to start a charter air service on the Atlantic Coast and Estli; but, then we decided to establish a bus service between "Kukra Hill" and "El Bluff". :-) ____________________________________________________________________

Re: Jose Bonilla

Steve -- How could I get information on Jose Bonilla's flight operation including costs and advance notification time?

Does Jose speak English?

Thanks -- Alan. ____________________________________________________________________

I have no idea what he charges for commercial charters. I am sure every contract is negotiated. You can mention you "met" me on the website. He speaks only broken English, but can get by when necessary.
