Looking for information in Nicaragua
Hi, My name is Trish O'Connor. I am looking for any information regarding my exhusband James O'Connor of Santa Cruz, California. He is pawning himself off as a businessman in Nicaragua . I have every reason to believe that he is somehow involved in selling Real Estate. I read favorable reports of Nicaragua which are current and promising, yet James is telling the courts in the US that Nicaragua Real Estate has been not only a BAD investment for him and our family, it's been a complete loss. That the likes of Armel Gonzalez of Arenas Bay and Hector Sanchez of Remanso are "crooks" and I have no way of proving or disproving such claims. I understand James may have purchased property in the Hacendia Iguana development as well as Arenas Bay , Remanso, Guacalito and Grand Pacifica. He may be doing condo development etc...PLEASE help unravel the mystery. Any comments or information you have will be much appreciated. Thank you. trishoconnorz@yahoo.com or call USA 1(408) 510-4089 or my attorney heidi@hsimonsonlaw.com

Favorable reports
Favorable reports tend to come from outfits selling the very thing that makes the reports favorable, which makes them suspect, too. Selling other people's real estate and owning it yourself and trying to sell it at a profit are very different things - even in a good economy. When one gets in, and when one gets out, is what determines everything. Anyone coming in the last few years has little chance of finding a promising outcome - if the goal is to sell or flip for substantial profit (finding a piece of land and building a home and retiring is a different thing). I don't know anyone named in the post above (google them and the results are not always encouraging), and the fact that the story is common doesn't make it true in this case. But, there is a never-ending supply of people from North America who come down here and lose all or most their money in real estate schemes in Central America. And, this happens year after year after year, just as those favorable reports get pumped out year after year after year.
Hey Trish
you looking for his money or his life?
Generic comment
While I have no knowledge of him, if he is a "new Gringo" in Nicaragua with the idea of making a lot of money in Real Estate, it is pretty likely he has managed to lose his ass. Nicaragua, like the rest of the world, has been hit by the U.S.-started financial meltdown. We all know what that meant for real estate in the U.S. Well, when the buyers in the Gringo developments here noticed there were in deep caca in the U.S., that certainly was not helping real estate here.
Now, there are people who are here and established that are doing "ok". But, recently has been the wrong time for the new guy.
That said, property records, incorporations and a lot more are public records in Nicaragua, kept at the department level. So, getting someone in the departments in question (I am not going to look this stuff up on a map for you) to go to the Registro Publico and look for his name should be relatively easy. Beyond that, word of mouth is king here so just asking around in said developments (and in bars nearby) should get you an answer.
Thank you for the tip!
He started investing '04/'05. Are you in Nica? Do you know anything about the development "Hacienda Iguana" and a condo project called Aguas Azules? I'm in California. Is the Registro Publico in Managua? Thanks for your take.
Trish
Should have lost his ass by now
My profile explains both where I am and who I am. A Google search will answer you next question. You will even find a lot about Hacienda Iguana just searching this site.
Sorry to hear you are in California. I got out of there a long time ago.
As I previously said, there is a separate public registry in each department.
