Compete with Costa Rica

I happened to run into the Costa Rica Superstore web site. After taking a look, I realize that all Nicaragua needs to do is have the guts to do what they are doing and everyone here can get rich.

You can go there and be amused at the prices. As an example, a 600ml bottle of Fanta Orange is $3.10. Considering such an item costs way less than $1 retail in Nicaragua, it seems like all you need to do is set up a web site listing what you can buy at the local supermarket and wait for, well, some dumb Gringos to start ordering. Oh, they do offer you the choice of English or Spanish—apparently just in case there are dumb Spanish speakers out there as well.

well ...are businesses

I would like that my country enjoy the succes of Costa Rica, and not for this non sense or humorous example, but for the stable, peaceful and democratic development that has enjoy for more than 70 years.

. I know that you aren't fan of Costa Rica , either of your own country, but recognizing the differences and virtues of our enemies is a act of self respect.

excellent!

That was an excellent reply, sandinog.

When

the Nicaraguans quit trashing thier own back yards they will be able to easily cash in and surpass Costa Rica in tourism. This one simple act could do it. I heard many tourist complain about how disapointed they were to see how Nicaraguans trash their own country. Now I know the reasons, so you can save it for me. These things take time and economics and so on. In the US we had our share of trashing what we had too. It took a couple of generations of educating the youth and tighting up on regulations before it really took effect.

Teaching the youth and starting some recycle programs throughout the country would be the most cost effective approach, and not to leave it up to the NGO's and gringos to do it.

All things take time, it always starts with changing the minds of the next ruling generation. Just think if the Sandinista youth organization took that on instead of what they are doing now, what could be accomplished.

I think Nicaragua has many more benifits then it's neighbor, and deserves to prosper. It needs to take control of it's own destiny and not leave it for someone else to take care of it for them.

Thanks Sandinog

The Thai people have a word called "Griengjai" in their language. It is a word very difficult to translate into English because of the nuance of culture and language. It has to do with the Asian concept of having "face". you have expressed the concept here better in English than I have ever seen it before. Thanks-I will borrow your words.

" recognizing the differences and virtues of our enemies is a act of self respect."

Wonder if you could translate that exactly into Spanish for me? thanks

sure

Reconocer las diferencias y virtudes de nuestros enemigos es un acto de auto estima.

You can read here the definition of auto estima in spanish.
