Orginal German breakfast with some friends in Selva Negra. Fresh warm milk , Fresh ground Coffee, free range chicken eggs, potatos and real butter and rye toast.

Germany?
Yeah well have you ever taken the tour of the whole place. The workers also live like German workers. German workers around 1850. Or maybe rather London. The temporary workers live in shelves in two story buildings without windows, while those who reside their permanently live in tiny houses of which 1 (!) gets repaired per year (with 50 houses that means each house gets repaired every half a century) and with a giant mansion of the owners up on a hill top overlooking the whole place.
While the real Germany has done away with those conditions over a century ago, little fake Germany in Selva still continues like that.

If what you say IS TRUE...
I am not aware of it. (I did not take that tour) I did speak to our housekeeper and she was happy with the job she has. Its a pitty that folks have to live in sub normal conditions based on we that have lived in first world countries, but have you been around Managua , Granada slums? Its worst..So this being said, is that our poor country has a lot to catch up with 1st world countries but so far we have not resorted in gasing and killing half the jews in the world. We are farmers and we are poor and when I read that folks from first world country have suggestions for us then I do concider that YES Nicaragua has a lot of catching up to do for the 19th century.

The scenery is great
but the place is worn out. Rooms in the little guest houses are small, damp and dirty. Food is so-so. Way overrated unless you hike round the hills.ZZT
Breakfast
El desayuno Aleman is my favorite! Mausy and Eddie are GREAT hosts!
Truely Special Place
Some people just don`t see it? Waking up to birds, a light drizzle of rain brings back memories of Eibsee, Germany at the foot of Zugspitzes mountain. The lake at Eibsee`s lodge is much larger, but I see what they were trying to accomplish with Selva Negra. Been coming up here for years and we will never get tired of it.
