Telephone Drop Wire

0

I am looking for a source of telephone drop wire. That's the stuff that runs from the telephone poll to your house. You can find one example here which is copper-clad steel. Another type has copper conductors and a steel support wire.

Clearly Enitel has it but asking an Esteli installer is not likely to get me source information. I need more than what would make a "gift".

By "looking for" I mean here in Nicaragua. It is easy to find in the U.S. (and in China where it all seems to be made these days). If I needed 100 km, that might make sense but I am talking about around half a kilometer. A roll would typically be 1km which is fine.

Another alternative might be RG-6 coax that is used for old (meaning not bi-directional) cable TV installations. ESTESA here has already upgraded so their trash bin is not going to be the place to look anymore.

Gracias.

Mike says to check with Sinter in Managua - it's a big office and he's found a lot there. They also have a small office in Chinandega where the receptionist can look up what you need and let you know if they carry it. Stacy

My first guess

That was where I looked first. The person who runs the Esteli office has turned into a friend. I am in there all the time and they really do have a nice assortment of stuff available.

But, elctrical stuff they have but not telephone stuff. I did get, for example, a 2-meter length of DIN rail there. That amazed me but made my DIN-mount breakers very happy.
