Scuba diving shop?
Submitted by luke88 on Thu, 2009/04/23 - 16:49.
I know there was a dive shop in San Juan Del Sur...but heard that the owners got in a fight and split ways. I think the shop was called Abaceur?
Can anyone provide any info on this...and if there is currently any dive shops/companies in San Juan del Sur, offering out dive packages in the area?
And also, how is the diving in Nicaragua?

Both have coasts have something to offer
Scuba Shack has closed but I believe there will be a new operation in the near future. I have dived on both coasts and while they are very different both have something to offer. Really depends on what you are looking for. The water is much clearer off the Corn Islands but there is a ship wreck and caves that offer a challenge to the more experienced diver here on the Pacific. http://www.dancesar.com/ Dan Polley

ship wreck in Nicargaua
Do you have any info on the ship wreck you refer to in your post. As well as the caves?? I am interested in developing a diving business in Nicaragua on the Pacific Coast but lack solid info on potential sites to dive. I have access to boats and the means to get a dive operation started. I have owned several dive centers in New York and am looking to relocate to Nicaragua. Any help would be great.

Locally they call it "The Russian Trawler"
Fidel from Neptune Watersports at: www.neptunenicadiving.com calls it a shrimp boat.
He is the only dive shop right now in SJdS but there is an American trying to set another one up.
We really need a professional dive shop here
With someone that actually maintains the equipment.
Diving Lake Nicaragua
Has anyone done any diving in Lake nicaragua? Any ship wrecks? Possible around the forts?
