Gotta love Nica politics-The fatman rides again

Here's a link to NY Times story on Arnoldo's conviction being overturned- http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/17/world/americas/17briefs-EXLEADERSSEN_B...

Indeed
That fat piece of S*** scum of the earth is "free" again, basically now his fat majesty and child rapist Ortega can alternate in power 2011-2016 and so on and on. I am amazed as to how some people can defend Ortega in any way possible when he is single-handedly responsible for the economic destruction of my native country; stupid bastard keeps using 80's cold war rethoric (blaming the U.S empire works well with populists/dictator regimes all over the world) for Nicaragua's economic woes, now even the EU is being called "Colonialist empire" haha! the poor, soft Europeans who can't even defend themselves being called aggressors by this maniac!
So goes politics
When Bush and Cheney get convicted of war crimes I might start to think things are different in the first world.
don't ever remember Bush or Cheney
repeatedly badmouthing the home countries of America's biggest donors/investors/trading partners, but then I don't watch much TV.
I think Cheney is one very
I think Cheney is one very evil bastard, and I'd love to see him get nailed to a post and leave him rotting for his crimes, and while they are at it include Rumsfeld and Wolfwitz too. Bush, while he is by no means "innocent" was man-handled by the above individuals, in the end they are all guilty of crimes. Now Fyl, as you can see I dont have a blindfold (despite being conservative) and see the fatal flaws on my leaders, why then dont I ever see you mention any flaws on POS Ortega and his cronies? (including murderers like Cerna, plunderers like Arce, Borge and his older brother Humberto) You live in Nicaragua Fyl, as such you will have a front-row seat to witness the financial doom Ortega will revisit upon Nicaragua again.
FSLN, PLC, Ortega, ...
Recently there was an interesting discussion about the good and bad of today's FSLN on the Casa Ben Linder mailing list (a Yahoo group). I can't say there was a "this is right" conclusion but there were some good points made about what is and isn't being done, how democratic or non-democratic it is and whether it is better to support the best of what is available or to only strive for "good".
It's a hard call. The ultimate purpose of government should be to improve the conditions of those that it governs but what counts as improvement and what sort of loss of freedom is a reasonable "cost" of some other benefit.
This, of course, is not unique to Nicaragua. Always and to a much greater extent in the past few years the US government (ok, the executive branch of that government in particular) has been doing "secret things" to protect its citizens it says. But, if they are secret, how do you really know?
Even without politics/political careers involved, if a "supreme leader" is given a budget, there is still no one best thing to do. If there was, government would be unnecessary.
more of the story?
I read the article above and there was not a lot of detail and then I found this article: http://www.startribune.com/world/37734779.html Interestingly enough, it says the four judges who freed him were all aligned with the PLC and 2 aligned with the FSLN were not happy and there were disparging remarks toward the Sandinistas by Aleman. Who knows if it is accurate, but if it is, El Pacto? Entonces, se fue?
"if you see someone who has lost their smile, give them one of yours"
the pacto
This new deal by Daniel to free Aleman, will be a double sword for Daniel. Believe it or NOT,the deal benefits the PLC more than anyone. The FAT pig,has an unbelievable amount of people(mainly Campesinos) that would die for him.
Remember the date and time I am mentioning this to you guys. Now that Aleman is free,he will start to bad mouth Ortega and will at least try to make one Political block to go againts the F$LN,as far as re electing a president, that is exactly what Aleman also want,so he can run for president comes next election.(and hopefully steal less money than last time) The bottom line is that 62% of Nicaraguans WILL vote for anyone else but DOS,that includes me and my entire family which are 60% PLC and 40% F$LN.
I have spoken to more than 60 friends of mine here in Esteli about Alemans deal(until yesterday) and they all told me, :Que se prepare Daniel, porque ahora el gordo le va a bolar verga,ya que el F$LN no lo pueden chantajear mas:
Predictions
Hola FAP, I think that DOS and Aleman will create a parliamentarian form of government, where both would be able to re-elect themselves indefinitely.
The PLC needs the FSLN and viceversa. The(big time) losers in this national tragicomedy are the nicaraguan people.
Tenés que acordarte que a todo chancho le llega su sábado.

Let's see
I almost posted a link before this post (it was to the article in the International Herald Tribune) but it just seemed too early. I think we are going to see a lot more about this including the actual wording of the decision.
I don't want to imply there are non-corrupt politicians here (or anywhere for that matter) but when the dust settles the picture may be a bit different.
