Tax free Imports

I can only consolidate cargo in Miami, Florida and then it is shipped via ocean freight to Managua. This is really not tax free to me but an account I have established with DGI, and based on Law 525 for the bozos in this group that think tax free is ilegal,I have an 500,000 exemption as long as they are in my name. They charge a flat 5000 per container so we have a way to go still...

Thank you for your kind and eloquent words JGiraldezB

Why do need to call people names when they question your post?

When I asked you for some clarification via email, you went off the deep end, calling me names when I suggested that you may wish to reword your post, since is reads somewhat questionable and like a scam.

YOU wrote: "NO INSPECTION, NO TAXES". Now THAT looks strange to me. No Inspection? No taxes? WOW for a minute I thought we had a new owner of the country!

NOW you are telling us the shipment has to be in YOUR name. Does this mean I was right after all? Does this mean you are misrepresenting the owner or the shipper the shipments? Are you misrepresenting the recipient?

I'm sure you'll forgive me if I check with DGI directly and have THEM explain to me how you get shipments "Taxfree" and without inspection into the country. I'm sure they'll be able to pull up your file and do an audit. If it is in fact possible to circumvent inspection under Law 525 it is a loophole that needs to be plugged. I thank you for the information. Nice business for someone to be in.

As an afterthought, WHY would the Sandinista Party or the Army import chickens? I didn't know there was a shortage. Even Pali uses local chicken. When it fits the Walmart model they must be price competitive.

I am looking forward to more of your interesting, well thought out words.

misrepresenting the owner or the shipper the shipments

Do you know what happens when you cut an AWB or a BOL on a ship...your give all authority to the shipper and inturn gives it back to you when they are delivered..oh, but you would not know that because you have shipped 600 containers , right,

Jorge Giraldez-Benard Latin American Advisors Company Ltd Texaco El Cortijo 1/2 C al Sur Casa 300 Res. El Cortijo, Managua, Nicaragua C.A.. e-mail JGiraldezB@yahoo.com Skype, YahooPager & MSN User name: JGiraldezB

JON you are a novist

In the 80`s I worked with the sandinista party, mostly imports on meds and items from the USA. (blockade) You do not know your left foot from your right on imports... and that is, that you have stated to me that you have imported over 600 containers arlready. (NOT TRUE) I know what you have imported...so please give us all a break. Do you know what Law 526 is!? Look it up and then post.

1: Construction Material is imported for the Army in Pre fab housing, cheap, easy to transport and I get any space left over in the container. (Tax free import)

2: Chicken, you should know this....The U:S: is the Cheapest producer of polutry in the this side of the world. The amount the Army buys is so great that .2 cents makes a big difference. So they buy US poultry but you would not know this because you cannot determine which foot you are going to put forward first.

You use words like Scammer, which I think you should look into a mirror. You are a fraud, a spent soul that preys on others folks ideas and contacts. See you are the misfit here.

If you want to import Tax free, learn to import for the Governement...its the same all over the world, the Army pays NO TAXES.

Items being in my name are cleared, yes, because if it was in your name it would get taxes. simple....but you still need more explainations, make an appointment.

You tell me you will talk to DGI about this? You are an idiot, you question me! I can have your rear on a plate and serve it infront of this group any day. You ask me for help looking for property and then when i produce it you back out or try to go around me!!!

Most folks on this group talk about silly stuff like the 1000 post about coming in with 200 bucks or not , hell I even posted...but ....PLEASE.

Ask some real questions, lets get a diolog going and get down and dirty.

No idol threat,Jon you should try me.....

Maybe,

You should brush up on your reading skills.

Here is my original email to you after you emailed me to draw my attention to your import post:

Jorge,

Thanks for pointing this out. I have a WHOLE lot of questions and the way your post is written it comes across like something that is possibly slightly illegal. You may wish to post an explanation how your service will work. As you can see by answers to your post, others have reservations as well.

Good luck, Jon

Why did you get so angry about that email?

You seem to be angry with me because I refused to fall for your little games and because I did not hire you. You'll have to find someone else to scam. The test properties you were supposed to find were completely different from the type of property I was looking for and were useless land that you tried to sell to me. Go around you? Now that's funny Jorge! I don't buy rubbish. I leave that to you.

I'll do you a favor and post the "Working proposal" you sent to me. Maybe someone on this board will give you a job:

WORKING ARRANGEMENT PROPOSAL

3000 PER MONTH PLUS VEHICLE AND TRAVEL EXPENSES

I WILL SCOUT , INVESTIGATE , MEET AND ARRANGE FOR THE PURPOSE OF PURCHASING PROPERTY FROM THE OWNERS WITH THE INTENTION OF BEING BOUGHT BY NICARAGUA REALITY S.A.

SALERY WILL BE DUDUCTED FROM COMMISSIONS PAID FOR EVERY PROPERTY BOUGHT. (UNLESS IT EXCEEDS 3 MONTH SALERY) THEN THE REMAINDER WILL BE PAID UPON CLOSING.

I AM WILLING TO ARRANGE AND ATTEND EXHIBITIONS FOR PROPERTY INVESTMENT SEMINARS IN ANY COUNTRY AS PART OF MY DUTIES.

Please note: This proposal is unedited and original. (Note spelling and Capital Letters) Anyone interested in hiring this man? I hereby recommend him and suggest that he be paid at least twice the amount he requests above. (I really, really mean it!)

Did you feel threatened when I mentioned the DGI? I can't understand why, after all, all I said was that I would have them explain the opportunities to me. Guilty conscience?

Oh, I almost forgot, the complaints department at the US Embassy says hello. They suggest you not use the "shipping thing" too often. They say it's too similar to the one you used some time ago.

Just for your information, since you obviously have reading and comprehension problems, I said I shipped over 600 containers in the past. Nothing was said about Nicaragua.

I won't turn this thread into a discussion with someone like you. You are done for me. I hope everyone else reads your "classy" Santa thread and ALL the comments made about it.

In the spirit of the Xmas season, I wish you everything you wish me.

$300 U.S.per month with/and car,gas.

is not a bad deal if you can deliver. 10% gross commission on closing, payable 30 days from closing. Any Holdbacks payable with interest. three months obligation unless extended. Your name is your bond Jorge. Why not?

300 or 3000

missing a zero... The RAAS has some complicated land titles and its hard for a noveist to buy titled land and not get had. There is a lot of land owners in the RAAS and RAAN but it needs a lot of leg work and good contacts. Real Estate folks on the pacific have no idea on how to do business on the other side of Nicaragua.

Land is pretty cheap but its in huge parcels, so you are talking about 800 a mz for example times 6000mz, its in the millions 4,800,000 and 3% of that is very interesting. What Jon was proposing was 3% 0f his 7% and I called him on it. I wanted 3% of the sale not a precentage of his percent.

:-PC

BTW this ==>:-PC, means I am eating pop corn, watching this thread unfold :-)

I wondered what the hell PC meant.

I thought it was short for something vulgar. P.S. What's the word vulgar in nica/Spanish?

it's

Vulgar=Vulgar, same thing.it's just pronounced differently.

Yes, maybe

Where do i start.... Test properties, you tell me you need large lots on the Atlantic coast and i supplied them for you then you come back that they are too small...6000 mansaza, 15,900 MZ you were mining... and you know it. The RAAS knows about your other endevors so don`t pin anything like that on me.

I wish you a Merry Christmas and please try NOT to scam any other National from money. (Paying a 3% 0f your 7%+ 10.. Look at the proposal you posted, I was to supply you with land inturn for compensation.. not chump change that you are use to paying if anything at all. ABOUT Work for you, please.!!!...I was just going to supply something oviously you could not handel.

REF: The US Embassy, what department is that one you mention? Something maybe you made up..... You are your own bad news Jon and are pissed that I was not going to make you a rich man at No compensation. please!!! You are known around SJDS by most folks on this form about your deals...Get use to it...try to remember when you have helped anyone.

Good luck Hombre, you get what you deserve. If you have some facts you would like to share with me on this form, please produce them. If its slander, I will cut you down and have your old butt out of this country in no time, remember we are not as diplomatic as we were before.

I am not pissed at you, just that you try to represent something you are NOT but simply A lier and Cheat that wants to take advantage of folks that are not as smart as you....well you hit a wall with me...

Jon Burger, what a piece of work you are and your reputation follows you...tread lightly Mr. Imported 600 containers,,,you forget whom you are talking too. You are another example of what we do not need in my country...

You have a problem with me, lets meet and discuss it off forum. Noone needs to really know what a piece of garbage you are.

PS did you look up 526...Did you call Porras.... You know nothing and make stuff along as you go.

Back on shipping for a moment

in reference to your service Jorge. What happens if the goods/freight/small parcels get lost, damaged or stolen? Is the standard Bill of lading, or declared BOL cost part of the three dollars a pound? In the event of a loss. who gets paid?

Tax free imports

I thank you for your commits and concerns. I ship mostly construction materials in 40 foot containers and pay a flat fee. I have worked out with DGI but I am exempt for 500,000U$ for one year of imports bases on Nicaraguan law. So as I said, if it fits into a 40 foot container it comes in without being opened inspected ort counted. It is x rayed in Miami to detect ilegal items.

Someone say that this could be ilegal, it took me almost two years to get this tax exemption...most of my building materials and Chicken are for thr Sandinista party and Army which by themselves are tax free.

so to answer a question 3.00 a pound is cheap because it includes shipping, custom clearence, intro duties and delivery. All you have to do is pick it up in Managua (LindaVista)

We are getting a lot of tires for some reason? 25 tractor tires for a construction company and 15 boxes of wallmart boxed for La Colonia!

Goodness....

I live in Oklahoma and i ship for about $7.00/lb, i've tried some internet deliveries and also like most little people do ... with friends or friends of friends, and i still rather pay my 7 buck because it actually gets there.. but i guess this service is for big investments...Chaq

Small shipments

Not really If you UPS Ground it to Miami and pay the 3 dollars a pound, you can pick it up in Managua the same way you packed it..

Jorge Giraldez-Benard Latin American Advisors Company Ltd Texaco El Cortijo 1/2 C al Sur Casa 300 Res. El Cortijo, Managua, Nicaragua C.A.. e-mail JGiraldezB@yahoo.com Skype, YahooPager & MSN User name: JGiraldezB Managua Office: 011 505 2682874

too much

$ 3.00 u.s dollars per pound sound and it is a bit much. From Miami to managua door to door runs around 1.80 and up.

Let's discuss this

As they say, "things that are too good to be true are too good to be true".

There are quite a few things here that don't make sense. Here is what I can immediately think of.

  1. While some things (agricultural supplies, for example) come in tax free, there is no general "pay no taxes" license that I am aware of.
  2. CAFTA covers things made in the U.S. (with lots of exceptions) but, as most things from the U.S. are not really made there, this "no inspection" makes no sense.
  3. Ocean shipping is by volume, not weight. Now, if you are shipping uranium there is a limit but for most things the only real issue is volume.
  4. And import license and an export license are two different animals.
  5. Lots of "legal" things (a common telephone or radio, for example) needs a TELCOR permit.

Now, I did know of a service that would smuggle things into Costa Rica in "empty" banana containers. It was $40 minimum, one-week from Miami to your door, cash only, no questions asked. But, it has since gone away.

While $3/lb. is pretty expensive (we shipped something like two kilograms of stuff from Florida to here for about $800) the "no taxes" part just does not compute. So, can you explain what is really happening?

Home Depot to Hialeah, Florida

This what we ship the most of.

I have a 500,000 worth of exemption

When they charge me, if they charge me, it is a flat 5000U$ per container which is deducted from my account. Export and import are two different animals but in the case of import, I am exempt. (Catch is it has to be shipped from Miami in our container.

Jorge Giraldez-Benard Latin American Advisors Company Ltd Texaco El Cortijo 1/2 C al Sur Casa 300 Res. El Cortijo, Managua, Nicaragua C.A.. e-mail JGiraldezB@yahoo.com Skype, YahooPager & MSN User name: JGiraldezB Managua Office: 011 505 2682874

My point 5

While I think I asked some good questions, let's look at my point #5, permits. Let's say I want to import 10 cellular phones. That might be 10 lbs.

Now, import duties and sales tax are one issue. But, to import a cellular phone (or a radio, walkie talkie, ...) one needs permission from TELCOR. There is no "Aduanas can waive that license requirement" option.

Does this mean that

I pay no taxes on the stuff you bring in for me? Does your fee of $3 a pound include my taxes?? I just paid $200 for 150 lbs, Miami to Managua. Duty was flat 15% extra on the value. That was $120 extra. That is total of $320 for 150 lbs, so your rate is not real competitive. Otherwse, sounds like a useful service.

Shipping

May I asked what shipping company that you used? I have used Republic in the past.

shipping 20 laptops

into managua for US 350.00 including shipping and clearece You are right, it depends on what you ship,

Jorge Giraldez-Benard Latin American Advisors Company Ltd Texaco El Cortijo 1/2 C al Sur Casa 300 Res. El Cortijo, Managua, Nicaragua C.A.. e-mail JGiraldezB@yahoo.com Skype, YahooPager & MSN User name: JGiraldezB Managua Office: 011 505 8258505

I paid $2.50 /lb from San Francisco - Customs included

I send items to my cousins in Nicaragua from San Francisco but the shipper charge us by space (carton boxes - small, medium & large), not by pound. The shipper gives you the box and if it is local, they can pick it up for a $10 fee and if you live on the other side of the bay, their fee is $20.00. The larger box is like a big TV box and cost $270, including the customs fees (I believe now the cost is $300) + cost to driving it to SF (you or them). The weight of the last box we send was close to 125 lbs. Then, I figure we pay at an average rate of $2.50/lb. The shipper sends it to Managua via container and it is delivered to my cousin's home two weeks later at no additional cost. I know about other shippers to Nicaragua advertising services in San Francisco and LA with similar rates. Maybe this information about competitor’ rates are useful to Jorge. Wishes you the best in your new business and will pass the information to friends who live in Miami.
