Book Review: 50 Años en la Cocina

Quite often people are asking for Nicaraguan recipes. Well, I tripped on this book in La Colania yesterday. The book was first published in 1971. This is the 9th Edition, published in 2006.
There are 24 chapters that start with Básicas and Tipicas, go through the chapters you might expect (Sopas, Pescados, Pastas, Carnes, Banes) and end with Queques and Bebidas. While I have yet to read this 700 page book (or any other cookbook cover-to-cover), what I see makes sense.
I see recipes that friends and family have cooked here. Some are such things as "Como Cocer La Lengua de Res", others more interesting such as "Pescado Horneado en Vino Blanco". I wouldn't call any of it gourmet cooking but it goes way beyond gallo pinto, tortillas, cuajada and such. In fact, flipping through as I am writing I find two recipes for garbanzos—Garbanzos a La Aldeana" and "Olla de Garbanzos". I am not going to be making either as one contains "chorizos de hot-dog" and the other "chorizos españoles" but they are actually good examples of recipes that are both different and can be made from ingredients you find here.
It was fairly expensive at C$711.25 but it is also a big book that will keep me occupied in the kitchen for quite a while.

Where?
Was it in La Colonia Supermarket? Which town?
Good find, Nicaraguan cousine can be quite varied.
Galerias
I got it in the La Colonia behind the Galerias mall on Cta. a Masaya. I am guessing it will be in any of the big ones.
I was hoping it was it was
I was hoping it was it was supermarket under construction in Esteli although someone said it could be a La Union. It nice to see that the supermarkets have bookstores.
Walmart thing, I think
Mas X Menos in Costa Rica has a small book section. La Colonia is the same so I am guessing it is just WalMart.
Next time I am in Liberia Ruben Dario I will look for it. Estelí does at least have a bookstore.
Colleges and Uni.
It might be possible that the colleges and universities might have bookstores as well, it would make sense. I have a laundry list of Nicaragua and Esteli books that I'd like to purchase.
The wife has that book. I
The wife has that book. I asked her where she got it and she said that she got from the library in Managua she thinks it was in Metro Centro. But in Nic. library means the book store.
