The roots and remedies of the financial crisis

This, to me, is a "must watch" news segment. Unlike all the short-term finger pointing (and short term proposed fixes), Leo Panitch has the background knowledge to put the pieces together starting back in the 1960s. He talks about the actions of presidents in both parties since that time and how each side's actions kept building the house of cards that just fell down. He also talks about what needs to be done next.

Leo Panitch is the Canada Research Chair in Comparative Political Economy and a Distinguished Research Professor of Political Science at York University in Toronto. Panitch is also the author of "Global Capitalism and American Empire" and his most recent release "American Empire and the Political Economy of International Finance".

Good piece. Yes, it is now

Good piece. Yes, it is now more important than ever not to point fingers and blame, which just turns some people away. It is not a black or white issue, but a very complicated one. It is important to learn from past mistakes and band together to solve this crisis. For those who don't mind a more definite point of view this one is not quite so gentle, but very informative and starts back in the 60's. You be the judge.
